f life and of the heat of the sunÆs rays, as well as a lunar divinity. Under the Twenty-second dynasty she became a dynastic deity, when the capital was shifted to Bubastis, the site of the goddessÆs most important sanctuary.\par
Here she is represented
with one of her most characteristic attributes: the aegis, a bronze crescent-shaped pendant hanging from the collar.
